LIC Recruitment 2020: AAO & AE Vacancies Notified: Apply Online, Eligibility, Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Exam Dates

LIC Recruitment 2020: Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has invited applications for recruitment to the post of Assistant Engineers (A.E) – Civil/ Electrical /Structural /MEP & Assistant Architect (A.A) and Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) Specialist. Interested candidates can apply to the posts through the prescribed format on or before 15 March 2020.

A total of 218 vacancies have been announced by the Life Insurance Corporation of India out of which 50 vacancies are of Assistant Engineer and 168 vacancies are of Assistant Administrative officers. The online application window is being started from 25 February 2020 and continued till 15 March 2020.

Aspiring candidates who wish to join LIC as AAO (Specialist – IT, Chartered Accountant, Actuarial, Rajbhasha) or as AE must read the LIC recruitment notification to see if they fulfill all the LIC eligibility criteria for the respective posts. LIC AAO, Assistant Engineers 2020 Eligibility to Apply

A candidate will have to fulfil the age and education qualification eligibility criteria to apply online for LIC AAO, Assistant Engineers 2020 recruitment process.

Age: Minimum Age shall be 21 years and maximum not be more than 30 years.

Education Qualification:

AE (Civil): B.Tech/B.E. (Civil) from an AICTE recognized Indian University/Institution. Candidate should have a minimum three years working experience in planning and execution of multi storied building projects with all required infrastructure.

For AE (Electrical): B.Tech/B.E. (Electrical) from an AICTE recognized Indian University/Institution. Candidate should have a minimum three years working experience in planning and execution of multi storied building projects with all required infrastructure.

For Assistant Architect: B. Arch. from a recognized Indian University/Institution. Candidate should be registered with Council of Architecture and possess a minimum of three years experience in designing of all types of buildings with allied services. Candidate should also be well versed with green building design requirements and application of AutoCAD software and / or similar type software.

For AE (Structural): M. Tech / M.E. (Structural) from an AICTE recognized Indian University/ Institution. Candidate should be well versed with structural design of high rise building with the foundation system. He/she should be familiar with various standards of BIS pertaining to structural design and Foundation design and must be experienced in handling of structural engineering software like ETABS, STAAD etc. Candidates applying for the post must possess minimum one year hands on experience in the area.

For AE (MEP engineers): B. Tech./ B.E. (Mechanical/ Electrical) from an AICTE recognized Indian University/Institution. Candidate should have a minimum three years experience in planning and execution of Plumbing / Piping / HVAC system, Lift & Fire Fighting system, Electrical Sub-station in multi storied buildings.

For AAO (Chartered Accountant) – Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Indian University/Institution and Candidates should have passed Final Examination of Institute of Chartered Accountant and completion of Articles as presented by Institute of Chartered Accountant. The candidate should be Associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Candidates should provide their membership number and the same will be verified with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

For AAO (Actuarial) – Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University/Institution and Candidates should have compulsorily passed 6 or more papers of the examination conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK. as on the date of eligibility i.e. 1st February, 2020. Candidates should provide their membership number and the same will be verified with Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK.

For AAO (Legal): Bachelor’s degree in Law or LLM from a recognized
Indian University/Institution. Three years Bar experience is essential.

For AAO (Rajbhasha): Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi translation with English as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s Degree level

OR

Post Graduate Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s degree level

OR

Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at Bachelor’s degree level.

For AAO (IT): Graduation degree in Engineering (Computer Science, IT or Electronics), or MCA or MSC (Computer Science) from a recognized Indian University/ Institution.

Application Fee

For UR/OBC Category- Rs. 700 + GST + Transaction Charges
For SC/ST/PwD category- Rs. 85 + GST + Transaction Charges.

Salary

Basic pay of Rs. 32795/- per month in the scale of Rs. 32795- 1610(14) –55335– 1745(4) –62315 and other admissible allowances as per rules. Total emoluments at the minimum of the scale inclusive of House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance etc wherever admissible depending upon the classification of the city will be approximately Rs 57,000/- per month in ‘A’ Class city.

Selection Process

Recruitment of both LIC AAO and LIC AE candidates is done through three stages:

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Main Exam
  3. Interview

  • 1st Step: Go the official website of LIC: www.licindia.com.
  • 2nd Step: Scroll down and click on “Careers”.
  • 3rd Step: Click on “Recruitment of Asst Engineers/ AA/ AAO (Specialist)- 2020“.
  • 4th Step: Click on “Apply Online”.
  • 5th Step: Click on “Click Here For New Registration”.
  • 6th Step: Read the instructions carefully and click on “Continue”.
  • 7th Step: Enter your basic details, like Name, Mobile Number, and Email ID.
  • 8th Step: Enter the security code and click on “Save & Next”. At this point, a Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated for you and sent through SMS and Email. Note them down.
  • 9th Step: Upload scanned images of your Photograph (20-50 KB, JPF Format) and Signature (10-20 KB, JPG) and click on “Next”.
  • 10th Step: Select the post you applied for, your category, and other personal details. Enter your postal address along with PIN code. Validate the details and click on “Save & Next”.
  • 11th Step: Enter your educational and experience details, etc. Validate them and click on “Save & Next”.
  • 12th Step: Check all the entered details. If everything is correct, check the box against the declaration statement. Also, confirm your signature. Click on “Final Submit”.
  • 13th Step: Upload scanned image of hand-written declaration in the prescribed format.
  • 14th Step: Make payment of your LIC AE/LIC AAO application form and take a print out of the application form and confirmation page for future reference.

Exam Pattern

The LIC AAO exam pattern consists of 3 phases. The Prelims exam will be followed by the Mains exams. Those who clear the Mains exam too will have to appear for a personal interview being finally appointed as an AAO by LIC. The Prelims exam will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) which will be conducted in both English and Hindi for the ease of the candidates. The Mains exam will also be Bilingual and will be conducted online as well. Candidates clearing these 3 rounds completely will be eligible for the appointment only.

English Language test will be of qualifying nature and the marks in English Language will not be counted for ranking.

LIC Interview & Final Selection

Based on the marks secured by the candidates in the LIC AAO Main exam, they will be shortlisted for Interview. The Interview will be conducted for 60 marks. For SC/ST candidates, the qualifying marks is 27 whereas, for others, it is 30. Final selection of candidates will be based on the candidates’ performance in both Mains and Interview.

As you can see, the LIC AAO exam pattern is almost similar to that of bank exams. So, taking bank mock tests for IBPS and SBI will help you immensely in your preparation.
