Calculation of Marks in CAT
CUSAT CAT marks can be calculated through a formula, S = 3R – 1W. The abbreviations have been expanded below,
S: Score obtained in CAT exam
R: Number of Right Answers
W: Number of Wrong Answers
For programs where score in based on more than one test, rank lists are drawn up on the basis of the Percentile Index determined by the formula, [(n+1-p)/n)]x S x 100
n: is the number of candidates appearing for the Test in a particular subject
p: is the position according to the CAT score
S: is the actual score of the candidate.
The Percentile Indices are then integrated to obtain the relative position of a candidate in the rank list for a particular program.
