The news report where the vacancy details have been first reported also points out that this recruitment will not be exclusively for SI posts. There will be vacancies for armed police sub inspector, dental surgeon, agricultural officer, junior health inspector grade 2, high school teacher, fitter and a few others as well. Recruitment rules as well as eligibility criteria, selection process shall be detailed as and when the said notification is released.
In the last Armed Police Sub Inspector recruitment, that was notified in the year 2017, the scale of pay offered was Rs 16980 to 31360. Candidates between 20 to 36 years of age were invited to apply. Candidates needed a minimum of graduation as qualification in order to apply for the post. Moreover, the physical qualifications required were 160 cm height, 76 cm chest with minimum expansion of 5 cms, and prescribed visual standards.
Sub Inspector of Police trainee post was last advertised as category 161/2015 against the pay scale Rs 16980 to 31360. For the said post, candidates with a graduation degree, between 20 to 31 years old were asked to apply. Physical standards required were 165.1 cm height that is 5’5” from male candidates, however for SC/ST candidates the requirement was 160.02 cm that is 5’3”. Also, candidates should have had a 81.28 cm chest that is 32”, with minimum expansion of 5.08 cm that is 2”. Female candidates had to be 160 cm tall at least, and female SC/ST had to be 155 cm tall.

Candidates should have completed Graduation from recognized university.

Educational Qualification

Visual Standards/requirements
For the Kerala Police SI recruitment, prescribed vision is a vital requirement for candidates to get selected.Both men and women have to be certified to meet the requirements of prescribed visual standards without glasses. Below are the specified visual standards.

Medical Certificate
Though the candidates get past the written exam and physical test successfully, during the time of interview, if the candidate fails to produce a valid medical certificate he/she is ineligible for the SI post and hence will be deemed to get disqualified.
Therefore the candidate should produce an original medical certificate in the prescribed form certifying to their physical fitness and eyesight without glasses attained from any one of the mentioned following medical officers.

Kerala Police SI 2019 Exam Pattern
Kerala Police SI exam indomitably is in an OMR(Objective Multiple Choice) online test mode. The exam duration is of 75 minutes with 100 set of questions each carrying 1 mark.Wrong answers will deduct 1/3 mark for each mistake.Here the candidates should be careful as to avoid answering uncertain answers and not lose any marks.
Medium of exam will be in English.
