The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced Deputy Central Intelligence Officer (DCIO) recruitment. A total of 27 vacancies are available under Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs.
As per the UPSC Deputy Central Intelligence Officer (DCIO) & Data Processing Assistant (DPA) Recruitment 2020 Notification released, the Commission has started the online application process from 28 December 2019 itself at its official application portal, upsconline.nic.in.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced Deputy Central Intelligence Officer (DCIO) recruitment. A total of 27 vacancies are available under Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs. A DCIO would be required to supervise operation and maintenance of communication network/ equipment, facilitate maintenance & operation of Cyber Security/forensics equipment, among other duties. The post carries all India transfer liability.
Qualification Details:
o apply for UPSC DCIO vacancies 2020, a candidate must be a Graduate in Engineering (BE or BTech) or BSc (Engg) in the notified trade or its equivalent from a recognized institution/university. Candidates having completed Master in Computer Applications (MCA) after three years’ Bachelor degree in Science with IT or Computer Science can also apply.
Similarly, to apply for UPSC DPA vacancies 2020, a candidate must be a Post Graduate in Computer Application or Science or Information Technology or should be BE / BTech in the required trade.
Age Limits (as on last date of application)
- Deputy Central Intelligence Officer (DCIO): 35 years
- Data Processing Assistant (DPA) – 30 years
- Note: Age Relaxation in upper age limit for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per the Government Norms.

Selection Procedure for UPSC DCIO and DPA Recruitment 2020
The selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the Computer Based Examination being organized by the selection body.
