Educational Qualification
- The Candidate must have a Master’s degree in a relevant subject with at least 50% marks or equivalent along with a B.Ed. degree in relevant discipline from any recognized university.
- For Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, candidates should have MSc.Ed Degree in the concerned subject with minimum 50% marks or its equivalent grade from any one of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by the NCERT. On the other hand, for Botany and Zoology candidates should have MSc.Ed Degree in Life Science with minimum 50% marks from any one of the Regional Institutes of Education.
- For subjects, Anthropology, Commerce, Gandhian Studies, French, Geology, German, Journalism, Home Science, Latin, Music, Psychology, Philosophy, Russian, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics and Syriac, candidates do need to have B.Ed degree.
- For SET in English, candidates having II class Master’s Degree in Communicative English with minimum 50% marks and B.Ed degree are eligible. Candidates having DLED/LTTC in Arabic, Urdu, and Hindi, not B.Ed, are eligible to apply for SET exam.
- Candidates having B.Ed degree in Hindi organized by the Dakshin Bharatha Hindi Prachar Sabha are exempted from the obligation of producing the equivalency certificate, because the degree has been recognized by the Universities in Kerala
- Candidates who acquired the qualification from open universities or through a correspondence course and not recognized by any one of the Universities in Kerala are not permitted to appear in SET exam. Those have obtained the qualifications through recognized correspondence courses/Open universities they have to obtain and certificates of recognition and equivalency from any one of the Universities in Kerala.
- Candidates having Master’s degree with minimum required marks but undergoing through the final year courses for B.Ed degree can apply for the exam. Those have acquired B.Ed but undergoing through final year courses of their Post Graduate Programme can also apply. Candidates belonging to this category are required to produce the certificate of qualifying exam passed within one year from the date of publication of the result.
- The relaxation of 5% in minimum marks will be given to candidates of SC/ST category.
- Candidates willing for Latin subject, they should have passed their degree examination in any discipline from any one of the Universities in Kerala or from any other University recognized as equivalent thereto with Latin as their Second Language under Part II with minimum 50% marks for that Part II are also eligible to appear for SET, provided such candidates have obtained II Class Master’s Degree with minimum 50% marks in any discipline.
How To Apply
- Candidates have to visit the official site of the LBS Centre for Science & Technology @ lbscenter.kerala.gov.in.
- From there you have to check the Online Services select, SET, And Other Exams section.
- After that select SET-FEB-2020.
- Now, click on the New Registration button after the completion of Prospectus reading.
- You need to provide a valid mobile number and then enter your OTP there.
- Fill the application form and then upload the photograph file of 200-pixel height and 150-pixel width and file size max 30 KB. (see instructions for uploading photo).
- Consequently, pay the fee and then submit the Kerala SET Application Form 2020.
- Download it and then print your Kerala SET Feb 2020 Application Form for further usage.

Kerala SET Exam Pattern 2020
The Kerala SET Exam Pattern includes two papers and those applicants are going to apply in this examination, they must have to prefer the exam pattern for the better preparation of examination. This examination will be conducted through pen and paper mode. The answers need to be marked in the OMR sheet. The detailed exam pattern is given below.
- Number of Papers: 2.
- Duration of the test: 2 Hours.
- Negative Marking: No negative marking.
- Marking Scheme: For each correct response, the candidates will be awarded 1 mark in both the Papers except for Mathematics and Statistics for which each correct response will be awarded 1.5 marks.
Paper I – Paper I consists of the following subjects.
- General Knowledge
- Aptitude in Teaching.
There will be 120 questions for Paper I with 60 questions each for Part A and Part B. Each question will carry one mark.
Paper-II – In this paper, the questions from the subject of specialization of the candidate at the Post Graduate (PG) Level will be asked. There will be 31 subjects for Paper II which are given in the table below.
